How it goes

How a patio or walk goes in

  1. Free quote

Request a quote online, or call or text (502) 915-1364. Tell us roughly how big the patio or walk might be.

  2. Lay it out

The shape is marked out on the ground, so you can see the size and where it meets the house, the drive or the lawn.

  3. Dig out

Soil and turf come out to make room for the base under the pavers.

  4. Build the base

Gravel goes in and is compacted, then a level bedding layer goes on top of it.

  5. Lay the pavers

Pavers are laid in the chosen pattern and cut to fit along the edges.

  6. Edge, sand and clean up

The edges are held in place, joint sand is swept in, and the work area is cleaned up.

Before you call

Worth thinking about first

None of this has to be decided up front. It just makes the first conversation quicker.

  • Size and use

What the patio is for: a table and chairs, a grill, a fire pit, or just a path to the door.

  • Where it connects

The back door, the drive, a gate or the sidewalk, and whether steps are needed on the way.

  • Color and pattern

Whether it should match the brick, a wall or stone you already have.

  • Where water goes

Low spots, downspouts and where rain runs across the yard today.

  • Slope

A sloped yard may need a low wall or steps to give the patio level ground.

  • Planting around it

Beds, shrubs or mulch along the edges of the patio or walk.

How much does a paver patio cost?

It depends on the size, the shape and the ground it goes on, so each patio and walk is quoted on its own. Quotes are free.

Can you build a patio on a sloped yard?

Often, yes. A low retaining wall or steps can give a patio level ground. Retaining walls and outdoor steps are both services we offer.

Do you do front walks as well as patios?

Yes. Front walks and walkway landscaping are part of this service.

Can you plant around the new patio?

Yes. Landscape design and installation is one of our services, so beds and shrubs can be planned with the paving.

Do you lay patios in my area?

We work in Pleasure Ridge Park, Valley Station, Fairdale and Valley Village. If you're nearby, call or text (502) 915-1364 and ask.
